Yoga Mat FAQs
What is the difference between yoga and Pilates?
Yoga is an ancient Indian practice of connecting the mind, body, and spirit. The main purpose of yoga exercises is for relaxation and to increase flexibility. Pilates is a method of exercise developed by Joseph Pilates that focuses on performing exercises with extreme control, alignment, and precision. The focus is on the core muscles and it helps to build a long and lean physique.
Do I really need a yoga mat?
It’s true that you can perform yoga without a mat, but a mat makes things much easier. It provides traction to prevent slipping in a pose and it also provides a little cushion for poses on the floor.
What is the difference between a yoga ball and an exercise ball?
There is no difference. They are both large balls inflated with air, used to make exercises more challenging or to provide support.
