Pilates Ball
The Pilates ball can also be called an exercise ball, or a Swiss ball. It’s the very same ball used in strengthening exercises and some yoga poses. The ball can actually make some of the Pilates exercises more effective.
The Pilates ball provides more challenges by forcing the participant to balance. The ball also can create exercises with more leverage, meaning more muscles are used. Performing exercises on the ball actually burns more calories than doing the exercise alone.
A Pilates ball is also great for stretching. Lying over the ball can open up the spine. It can act as a support for one leg while the hamstring is being stretched too.
